Made from printed MDF board. Comes flat in a box with instructions for you to assemble. The fins that slot into the rings at the top and bottom click into place and can not be taken apart. 
 
Chris has designed this shade so the pieces are flat at the top where the light fitting is attached. The idea behind this is so you can hang it flush against the ceiling or on a long cord. To install simply slot into the batten and screw the collar in place, then reattach your lightbulb. 
 
LED light bulbs are recommended with these shades.
